About Us
Constituted as a non-profit entity, The 70s comprises activists from across the political spectrum, of which Presidents Ramaphosa and Motlanthe were a part. The 70s is Anti-Sectarian, Anti-Racist and Anti-Sexist. Comprising that generation of activists of the late 1960s and 1970s when apartheid was at its height, The 70s is committed to the quest for excellence in our country and enhancing social cohesion. The 70s offers the depth and breadth of its skills and experiential base to deepen the democratic project, building necessary bridges in a sea of tumultuous contestation, divisive rhetoric and intolerance, thus restoring our common humanity in building our nation.
The 70s will build on the strengths and successes of the 70s generation of activists in our country to, inter alia, engage with government, other state and public institutions, private and non-governmental sector entities and communities to enhance their efficacy in dealing with our citizens.
